I’m an attorney-turned-homeschooling SAHM and a flawed, forgiven child of God.
My mission at Socks in the Dryer is to help moms cultivate peace, joy, and beauty in their homes, honoring God as they serve their families and develop their gifts.
I want to help you reconnect with your calling as a mother and wife, in a fun, inspiring, hopeful way.

About this Blog
First, the name.
We’ve all lost a sock (or a dozen) in the dryer, right? We know that two socks went into the dryer, but, somehow only one has emerged. So we dutifully put the surviving sock back in its drawer. We’re sure its mate will turn up in the next wash, or under the bed, or maybe stuck in a random toy box.
But weeks later we still can’t find it. And now, every time we open the sock drawer, we remember the one that went missing. We see the evidence that two socks once existed, perfectly matched and functional and beautiful. But something went wrong. Something is missing and now things just don’t work the way they’re supposed to. We want to put them back together, but we don’t know how.
This blog is for all the moms who sometimes feel a bit like a lost socks in the dryer. Who love Jesus and their families with all their hearts, but who feel a little lost, a little confused about what they’re supposed to be doing and how to do it all.
My prayer is that this blog is a place to help you begin putting the missing pieces together. I haven’t figured it all out yet, but I’d love to share what I’ve learned with you. With Jesus’s help, I believe we can get closer to the life of wholeness and purpose we’re dreaming of.
Here are a few things I know about you…because I’ve been right where you are, my friend.
You love God and want to honor Him in your role as a wife and mother, but you’re not sure how to do that all the time.
On the good days, your heart is full of wonder and gratitude. Those days when your baby comes to snuggle in your lap, and you close your eyes to enjoy the moment. When you see your child encourage a sibling or work diligently to complete a task, and you can’t believe you get to be that kid’s mom. When you see God’s blessings in every moment.
But on the tough days, you feel a little (or a lot) overwhelmed and stressed out. The house always seems to be a mess. The bills are barely getting paid. The kids are arguing and complaining, and you’re not sure how to take on the monumental task of training them to be kind, honest, compassionate human beings.
More than anything, you want to create a loving, thriving, peaceful home for your family. You have a deep desire to raise your children to know, honor and love God. But how do you do that?
You know that you are intelligent, creative and hard-working, and that you should have this all figured out by now, but somehow you can never seem to get it together.
You need a little inspiration. A little hope for your path. A little beauty in the chaos. I’m here to help you get started. Click below to begin building the home you long for…
